Susan Lowery: Music

Take The Lead

(Susan Lowery)
We stumbled through the ruins seeking answers, traversing pyramids and vines.
Everything around screamed “start over, let intuition lead the mind.”
The essence of your breath, leapt across my breast,
Cascading timeless memories to bittersweet to taste, like a love without a faith.

Love us, hold us, tell us your need.
Love us, hold us, then take the lead.

We drank in the clouds, till the sound became too loud.
In fear, we sought our shelter in a cave.
As the land was breathing fire, our spirits were lifting us higher.
The very thought of laughter was insane.

Love us, hold us, tell us your need.
Love us, hold us, then take the lead.

In God’s name we trust, we say because we must,
Have something to rely on great than we.
From the beginning of time, puzzles pieced together in rhyme,
Bring to us a sweet tranquility.

Love us, hold us, tell us your need.
Love us, hold us, then take the lead.
Love us, hold us, tell us your need.
Love us, hold us, then take the lead.

Take the lead, take the lead, take the lead………
